Project Description

James Naylor

In position 2011 – 2012

Being High Sheriff is an opportunity to see behind the veil of your county. I found it a humbling experience to witness the amount of good being done by so many unsung heroes.

I was fortunate to meet so many inspirational people working in the civic and public sector and gain an insight into the workings of local government, the police force, the judiciary, the armed forces, the education sector and the health service. Among the numerous engagements I attended many fell outside these parameters and I am indebted to the many people who hosted my wife and I in so many unforgettable occasions and visits.

The role of a High Sheriff is to make connections between people engaged in making Buckinghamshire a great place to live and work. It is an unique opportunity and a privilege for which I shall always be grateful.
