Rupert Francis John Carington

A year in which I had the opportunity to meet an astonishingly diverse group of people from Her Majesty the Queen during her Golden Jubilee visit to Buckinghamshire to a well known murderer at HMP Grendon Springhill. At the same time be involved in some astonishing activities from the inspection of nuclear bunkers to taking the passing out parade at RAF Halton and experiencing high speed police chases. On a more practical level the visits to schools, universities, hospitals, councils, waste recycling centres, courts, charities and much more gave me the opportunity to understand and appreciate the huge range of work undertaken in Bucks and to spend time with those involved in such important but often thankless but necessary activities.
